The Government has expanded childcare funding to help eligible families with the cost of early years care and education.
Eligible working parents in England may now be able to access up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week, over 38 weeks of the year, from the term after their child turns 9 months old until they start school.
Families may also be eligible for other forms of help with childcare costs, including 15 hours funded childcare for 3 and 4 year olds, funded places for some 2 year olds, Tax-Free Childcare, or help through Universal Credit.
Funding may be stretched across more than 38 weeks of the year by using fewer hours each week, subject to availability and the nursery’s funded childcare offer.
Parents must apply for a childcare code and renew it regularly to keep their funded place. Please contact us to discuss availability and funded childcare options for your child.
All children in England aged three and four are eligible for 15 hours free childcare, meaning all families qualify for the scheme. If your child is three or four years old, you get 15 hours free childcare or early education per week for 38 weeks of the year (during term time). This comes to a total of 570 hours over a 12-month period.
The 15 hours free childcare for two-year-olds are for families which receive some form of support, such as income support, Universal Credit or other benefits, or their child has, for example, Special Educational Needs (SEND). You can use the hours from 1 January, 1 April or 1 September following your child’s third birthday.
