Carmena Christian day Nursery’s aims to provide all children with a broad and balanced learning environment that is committed to the integration of children with special educational needs. Our philosophy is that all children with or without additional needs should have the opportunity to develop to their full potential alongside other children in an educational environment. We aim to provide a learning environment suitable for all children, including those with additional needs. To do this the nursery follows the guidelines listed below which have been set out in conjunction with the Early Years Foundation stage (E.Y.F.S) and our nursery.

We have a few named SENCO’s in our nursery, Mrs H.Roberts, Miss K.Brady and Miss A.LedfordJohnson. They are responsible for ensuring the SEN policy is reflected in the daily practice in our setting and reviewed at least annually.

We ensure SENCO’s co-ordinate liaison between parents, staff and other professionals who may be involved with the child. We ensure appropriate Individual Education Plans are in place which are monitored and reviewed on a regular basis, and plan support through Early Years and Early Years Action Plus when necessary.
